Battle of the Bears is presented by Canteen 19 and Unified Special Hockey of Maine to benefit the Waldo County Firefighters Association. The event brings together University of Maine Alumni and Bruins Alumni for an unforgettable evening of hockey while raising funds for firefighters and families impacted by the Robbins Lumber Mill explosion.
We lost people who ran toward danger so the rest of us didn’t have to. That’s what this night is for — Bruins Alumni and UMaine Alumni on the ice together, and every dollar going toward the people who protect us.
You don’t have to know a single player to belong here. You just have to care about the folks who show up when things go wrong. That’s most of us.
